Who We Are

Since 2008, Campaigning for Cancer continues to advance its mission of ensuring patient’s rights are protected by ensuring dialogue amongst role-players, facilitating solutions regarding prevention and treatment and representing cancer patients with regards to policy, healthcare costs, and delivery.

Over the years, we have experienced a number of instances where health consumers make decisions on medical scheme membership, gap cover and life insurance cover without knowing what the actual cover entails and how cancer patients diagnosis will affect these types of insurance. Only once they are faced with claiming from their benefits does the fine print come into play, and things like exclusions, new therapies, risk analysis, future insurance, disclosures, cover or ineligibility to reinsure one’s self create immense challenges for patients and survivors.

With an exemplary track record of arguing for cancer patients denied access to treatment, the Campaigning for Cancer case management team increasingly received request to assist non-cancer patients. Thus in 2020, the board of directors resolved to create a company to assist patients, healthcare practitioners, healthcare supply companies and patient advocacy groups by providing similar services when requiring help to escalate a treatment plan that has been declined by members medical schemes.
